Pauline’s Creamery Newquay Review

📍20 Bank Street Newquay Cornwall

Today is our first full day in Newquay Cornwall! After searching for the best bakeries near us we decided to try out Pauline’s Creamery for Brunch.

Firstly, Pauline’s Creamery was very easy to find as it was on one of the main streets near us. As soon as we entered the Tearoom we were warmly created by a member of staff who promptly seated us.

Upon first impressions, the surrounding atmosphere was very inviting and warm as a result of the homely interior design and friendly staff. The interior design was comfortable and understated as all the emphasis and effort went into the food.

We thought that the menu had a good selection of products to suit most tastes. After some consideration we decided to get 3 Cheese & Onion Cornish Pasties, 1 Vegetable Cornish Pasty, 1 Serving of Chocolate Fudge Cake, Cornish Cream Tea for One, Mixed Slush and a Cappuccino.

We thought that the Cheese & Onion Pasties were worth the publicity. The filling wasn’t too heavy and clumped together. The pastry complimented the filling without being too much. However, this is the first Cornish Pasty we’ve ever had and we are not experts in this area. The size of each Cornish Pasty was very generous as it was about half a plate with a small side salad.

The scones were incredible as they were warm, soft and light whilst complimenting the Strawberry Jam & Clotted Cream very well. We would honestly come back just for the Scones.

The two Scones served with plenty of Jam & Clotted Cream came as part of the Cornish Cream Tea with Tea for one which was only £5.50. In our eyes this was a very reasonable price.

The Chocolate Fudge Cake serving was extremely generous – we ended up not being able to finish it. This cake was so soft, fluffy and oozing yummy rich dark chocolate flavour. We could definitely tell that this cake was made fresh and with lots of love. The menu states that all the cakes served are made fresh daily on the premises. If all the cakes are like this you are definitely missing out on incredible cake. Pauline’s Creamery also offers a courier service – thus you can try it for yourself without having to come down to Cornwall.

The customer service was great – the food came very quickly and the staff were very professional and polite – even though it was quite busy when we were there.

Now onto the important issue… MONEY. For all of the food and drinks above we paid £33. For context, we were four very hungry humans. Most of the items we had could definitely be shared thus you could cut costs. But in all fairness the prices were very reasonable especially considering their reputation, serving sizes, quality of food and location.

🤙Would we recommend? Yes you definitely need to visit this place if you’re ever in Newquay Cornwall.
